Bridge Structure and History

Canford Main bridge comprises three arches built of Portland limestone.
The bridge was completed in 1813.
The bridge is jointly owned by Dorset County Council and Borough of Poole and is Grade II listed.
Canford Flood Arches comprise six arches built of Portland and Purbeck limestone and Greensand sandstone.
The parapets are constructed of red brickwork.
The structure was constructed around 1675.
The footway on the west of the bridges was added in 1964.
It is constructed of reinforced concrete planks supported on steel beams embedded in the bridges.
The footway is also covered by the Grade II listing.
