Traffic Light Faults
Most signal controllers will constantly monitor the operation of traffic lights and will automatically report faults to the Signal Maintenance Contractor, day or night. There are some junctions, however, where it is not possible to provide this facility and we often rely on the public to let us know if they see a problem.
If you do notice a fault with a traffic light junction or signalised pedestrian crossing (e.g. Pelican, Puffin or Toucan), for example one that is not working or is not synchronised with other lights, then please report it to Transportation Services using the form below.
Please let us know what road or junction the lights are on and what the problem is with them.
Alternatively you can call our direct Traffic Signal Fault line on (01202) 269151. This telephone is manned during normal office hours and there is an answerphone to cover out of hours periods.
To enable us to deal with the fault more efficiently it would be helpful if you could let us know the installation reference number (in black lettering on the side of the nearby grey controller box, e.g 52PS, 8PP etc.) and, if relevant, the Pole number of the faulty signal (all poles are numbered).
