Fun Family Learning At Poole Libraries

Poole libraries are encouraging parents and children to have fun and learn together with a series of free events to mark Family Learning Week link will open in new window in October.

'Get Online Day' on Friday October 12 will give families a chance to learn about the internet and how it can help with everyday life. Free help sheets, games and giveaways designed to make the internet more accessible will be available at all Poole libraries.

As part on of the 'Get Online Day', Canford Heath Library is hosting an 'Internet Plus Taster' from 10am to 11.30am, while sessions in 'IT Help and Cyber Fun' takes place at Poole Central Library at 2pm and 3pm.

Away from computers and the internet, families can display their artistic skills by taking part in plate painting sessions at Poole Central Library on Saturday October 13 at 10am, 10.45am, 11.30am and 12.15pm. There will also be a chance to learn how to draw cartoons at the 'Funny Faces' workshop at Rossmore Library on October 13 from 1.15pm to 2.45 pm.

To take part in the fun from your own computer at home there are funsheets to download on this page. 

Cllr Peter Adams, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, Borough of Poole, said: "This is a great chance for families to learn together with knowledge from different generations. It is also a light-hearted way for people to try out new skills and interests."
