Council Provides Freephone Repairs Line

As part of its drive to continuously improve services, the Borough of Poole's Housing Management Unit has introduced a freephone repair line service.

Councillor Bob Williams, Executive Spokesperson for Environment and Prosperity, said: "We strive to maintain a high standard of service across the whole of the Borough's Housing Services and are always looking for ways to improve them. This new free telephone service will be a great bonus for tenants and leaseholders, I'm sure that it will benefit everyone in helping to improve and speed up the reporting of repairs."

The new telephone number: 0800 6523900 will enable tenants and leaseholders of Council properties to report new repairs and check the progress of existing orders. It is being introduced with immediate effect and is available during normal office hours. For out of hours emergencies contact: 0800 506050.

This new initiative is a result initiated from the Best Value Review of Housing Maintenance that was completed in September 2001.

Councillor Chris Bulteel, Chairman of the Review Board, Borough of Poole, said: "We take the review process extremely seriously and this is a prime example of responding to the results we receive. In this instance we are able to offer a valuable addition to our service which will benefit Council tenants and leaseholders."
