Lice
We offer a pest control service for rats, mice, wasps and fleas, but do not treat other pests such as ants, bedbugs, beetles, cockroaches, mites, lice, or other insects. We do not offer a fumigation service either.
Note: Bees are a protected species. Honey bees should only be removed by a bee keeper, for other bees, contact a private pest control company.
Pest control
Our Pest Control Officers give advice on pests that are harmful to public health.
We also offer a treatment service for

These are dealt with for a fee. Costs are specified below.
We can grant Ship Sanitation Exemption/Control Certificates (formerly Deratting Certificates) for ships.
We do not treat other pests such as ants, bedbugs, beetles, mites, or lice.
Pest Control services can be arranged by telephoning us during normal working hours, where our staff will provide advice and make an appointment for treatment if you wish. Alternatively you can contact us by e-mail.
Officers call by prior appointment and apply safe and effective treatments. If for any reason the problem persists they will return and make every effort to ensure the pest is eradicated.

Conditions of treatment
- flea treatments include insecticide and Insect Growth Regulator treatment plus crawling insect spray for after treatment.
- if the service required is not covered above contact us using the details below.
- where a private tenant (including Housing Associations) is requesting a chargeable service they must first obtain a written confirmation and order from their landlord or pay for the service in advance.
- housing associations and landlords requesting wasp treatments are charged at full domestic rate.
- churches are dealt with under 'commercial' rates.
- second and subsequent wasps nests on same site treated at time of first nest at half rate.
- revisit to original wasp nest not destroyed - no charge. Wasp nest treatments do not include removal of nest.
