Flyposting is the illegal placement of posters, stickers, boards and other forms of advertisement on unauthorised sites including walls and street furniture. We will seek to take enforcement action against companies which undertake such activities, or can be shown to benefit from flyposting.

We have a dedicated team who deal with the removal and enforcement of flyposting in the borough. We aims to remove all fly posting on council owned property within four days of it being reported.

We have no powers to remove flyposting from private property with the exception of utility boxes sited on the public highway. Advertising on private property for an extended period may be subject to planning regulations.
