Family Information Service

The Family Information Service is the hub of information for the Borough in meeting the Information, Advice and Assistance Duty under Section 12 of the Childcare Act 2006.

We are a free, impartial, and confidential service that provides information on:

  • Choices and funding details for childcare including Day Nurseries, Pre-schools, Childminders, Breakfast and After School Clubs.
  • Activities for 0-19 yr olds – you may have seen the Summer Sizzler Activity booklet.
  • Services that support family life - such as being a parent, Access to Learning, and family breakdown.

You can contact us in a number of ways:

  • The telephone helpline
  • Face-to-face outreach and brokerage for childcare
  • Drop-in to the Dolphin Centre
  • Publications

We work in partnership with a range of agencies across the Children's Trust link will open in new window to ensure the delivery of information.
